What can be done to relieve the symptoms of various infections and help them to go away more quickly?

What are the different infections?

Infection means the harmful colonisation of a host by pathogens. During infection, the infecting organism seeks to use the resources of the host to reproduce. The infecting organism may also cause abnormal function and possibly destroy the host.

What symptoms do they usually cause?

The most common symptoms of bacterial and viral infections are:

  • fever,
  • limb and joint pain,
  • runny nose, nasal congestion,
  • sore throat
  • cough, sneezing
  • headaches,
  • weakness, lethargy,
  • cold chills,
  • digestive problems (constipation or diarrhoea),
  • rashes and other skin problems
  • etc.

Treatment of viral and bacterial infections

In addition to consulting a doctor and following his or her advice, the most important things to do are: relieving fever, cough, nasal congestion, pain relief, drinking plenty of fluids, eating properly, taking vitamins and minerals, trace elements, etc.

In addition to the above, herbs known from folk medicine and scientific research are also effective in alleviating the symptoms and accelerating the course of various bacterial and viral infections, and the following are among the ingredients of GALLMET-Immune (AntiBac).

Black elderberries

The elderflower has been part of European folk medicine for centuries: it is used mainly for fevers and colds.

The Elderflower crop contains high levels of anthocyanin, which antioxidant effect, antiviral activity against respiratory viruses (e.g. influenza virus), and acting on the immune system to help fight viruses.

The Elderflower crop studies have shown that accelerates recovery and reduces symptoms in people with influenza. Similar effects have been observed also for colds.

King of bitter

Andrographis leaves and roots were used in India and China to make medicine even before antibiotics were invented

A meta-analysis of data from more than 7000 patients analysed the treating colds. The results indicate that relieves cough, sore throat, cold symptoms and speeds up recovery compared to placebo.

From king of bitter extract from various pathogens (e.g. E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans) its anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and antispasmodic effects have been experimentally demonstrated.

Garlic

In different cultures, the garlic used as a medicinal (digestive complaints, rheumatism, skin diseases, wounds) and herb, and in the Middle Ages to prevent epidemic diseases.

The garlic inhibits the growth of many respiratory pathogens (bacteria, viruses).

One study found that long-term preventive medication garlic significantly reduced the risk of respiratory infections.

Pemete grass

The white horehound is such a popular herb that it is even used to make candy.

The white horehound has been shown to have immunomodulatory effects in animals infected with the Salmonella pathogen. Against several pathogens (Gram+ bacteria, fungi, parasites) showed antimicrobial activity. It was shown to have antiviral activity against herpes virus.

Bile acids

Without bile acids, there is no proper fat digestion in the body, proper bile circulation is required to process the fats in our food, which is at a disadvantage in a bile-deficient state. It also protects the body from the endotoxins (internal toxins produced by the breakdown of bacteria) that are always present in the gut, because they are broken down into atoxic parts. Without this, endotoxins can trigger inflammation and then disease in various organs of the body. It turns out that this protection also protects against all viruses with a fatty envelope structure, e.g. the flu virus. This protection system, based on the detergent action of bile acids, is called physico-chemical protection (based on the research of Prof. Dr. Lóránd Bertók).
