What to eat and what not to eat?

During periods of viral infection, it is recommended to eat light foods and to choose foods high in fibre and vitamins.

Drinking an adequate amount of 2-3 litres of non-carbonated water a day is important not only for cleansing and flushing the throat and larynx, but also because sufficient digestive fluid is produced when you drink enough.

On the one hand, stomach acid in the stomach helps to neutralise and break down many bacteria, viruses, fungi and microorganisms, and on the other hand, down in the lower intestinal tract bile and bile acids also have a disinfecting, or disinfecating, effect, and if there is not enough bile produced, these disinfectant functions will not work properly.
