Bile acids have a good chance of inactivating large lipid, lipoprotein (peplon) coated viruses.
Further research is being done on how much the - not very high - bile acid concentration in the blood affects the development of peplon viruses (or whether it can keep them in check, or even kill them), which include herpes viruses.
Our own experience: with normalised bile acid circulation, the herpes that used to flare up frequently no longer appeared.
