Removing the capsule shell does not impair the bioavailability of the active ingredients or the effectiveness of the product; however, the powder on its own, when mixed with water, can have a distinctly unpleasant taste:

• The devil’s claw extract has an extremely bitter taste.
• The Indian frankincense / Boswellia extract has a strong, resinous, herbal aroma.
• For this reason, when mixed with plain water, the taste of the liquid can be unpleasant or difficult for many people to swallow.
