Why are inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's colitis) so common today?

If someone's liver and bile are not working properly, then their whole digestive system has a problem, because the different areas are not isolated from each other, but are interconnected.

If there is a problem with the breakdown of fats, or if there is not enough bile to break down fats due to gallbladder removal, then fat digestion will occur through a putrefaction process, which upsets the bacterial flora in the colon. This disruption allows previously unknown microorganisms to colonise and multiply in the intestines. This can trigger inflammatory processes, causing pain and cramping.

This will mean that less of the other enzymes produced in the intestinal wall will be produced, so carbohydrate and protein digestion will also become a problem.
