What we know about bile acids

Bile acids are so-called steranase molecules formed in the liver. They enter the intestinal tract with the bile and are involved in making dietary fat and cholesterol more soluble. Once it has completed its task, bile acid undergoes transformations and is absorbed in the lower small intestine and the large intestine, is released into the blood and again into the liver, where it is reused and the process starts again. Our body circulates 2-3 grams of bile acid 5-10 times a day, losing 10-20% through the faeces, which is normally replaced by the liver. However, due to unhealthy diets and medications, bile acid deficiencies can occur and need to be replaced, otherwise long-term diseases develop.

Bile acid deficiency can be made up

Given the myriad of chronic diseases e.g. hypertension, atherosclerosis and its consequences, constipation, gallstone diseases, indigestion, allergic diseases, inflammation, chronic inflammation, osteoporosis, ulcer disease, chronic headaches, migraines etc., the normalisation of the bile acid circulation is of great importance, and for this we should choose bile acid products of animal origin. It is also an important natural medicine principle that the product should contain the different types of bile acids in as natural a proportion as possible.
